Education
Classrooms Without Borders
School supplies, scholarships, and an adult-literacy track for parents who never got the chance.
A future, not a forecast
We work alongside families pushed to the margins, building the everyday tools, school seats, clinic visits, fair wages, that turn circumstance into choice. Poverty is not a personality. It's a problem we can solve together.
Why we exist
Founded by a small group of teachers and health workers who kept seeing the same gap, talent and effort with nowhere to land, The Future of Poor builds the missing rungs: a school seat, a clinic visit, a fair wage, a working stove. We don't hand out hope. We build the conditions for people to take hold of their own.
Every household we work with gets one case worker who stays with them across years, not a rotating cast of short-term projects.
Our impact reports include what didn't work. Donors fund problems we're solving, not stories we're selling.
Over half our field staff grew up in the neighborhoods they now work in. They don't need a translator.
What we do
Each program is built to work on its own, and to compound when stacked together.
Education
School supplies, scholarships, and an adult-literacy track for parents who never got the chance.
Healthcare
Mobile clinics, maternal health visits, and nutrition support that travel to where families already are.
Food Security
Community kitchens, food banks, and farming co-ops that put a meal on the table without the wait.
Livelihoods
Vocational training, small business loans, and direct job placement with our hiring partners.
In their words
Composite stories drawn from the families and communities we work alongside.
The scholarship didn't just pay my fees. It told my parents that sending a girl to school was worth it.
The co-op loan let me buy a second loom. Now I employ two of my neighbors instead of borrowing from them.
The mobile clinic caught my son's fever before it became something worse. We didn't have to choose between rent and a doctor.
We used to skip dinner so the kids could eat breakfast. The community kitchen ended that arithmetic for good.
Our caseworker has known our family for three years. She knows our names, not just our file number.

Local committees, made up of community members, not head-office staff, nominate households based on need and readiness. Every case is reviewed by a caseworker before enrollment.
